Maria Umar Empowering Women Through Digital Work.

Maria Umar is a Pakistani entrepreneur on a mission—to create opportunities for women in the digital world. She’s the founder of Women’s Digital League (WDL), a platform that helps women in Pakistan find online work and build successful careers from home.

Maria started her journey in the corporate sector but soon realized she wanted to do something bigger—something that could truly make a difference. In 2012, she launched WDL, connecting skilled women with global clients in areas like graphic design, content creation, social media management, and web development.

Today, WDL has thousands of freelancers and clients in over 15 countries, helping women gain financial independence. Maria’s efforts have been recognized worldwide, winning awards like the GIST Tech-I Award (2014) and She Loves Tech Pakistan Award (2018).

Beyond WDL, Maria co-founded the Pakistan Freelancers Association and actively champions women’s rights and education. Her work is reshaping how women in Pakistan engage in the digital economy, proving that talent and ambition have no limits.

Maria Umar’s story is an inspiration—showing young entrepreneurs that with passion and purpose, you can create real change.
